Once registered, you have multiple ways to describe who you are and how passionnate you are about photography. Your DarQroom gives you a full profile page, where your visitors and customers can discover and browse your personal photography space such as:
– who you are including your influences and the equipment you use

– your galleries
– your favorite images

– the groups you participate in
– your different participations to darqroom contests

Be discovered through a very active social platform

DarQroom is a social platform hence has by default all the features of what is known as a web 2.0 platform: contacts, friends, comments, RSS feeds for your profile and images, statistics, a full messaging platform, all the communication tools you encounter on any leading social platform.

Contacts

Each time you log in your DarQroom account, you get, like on Facebook, all the news from your friends and community : portfolio updates, new images uploads, photography news. Meet photography passionnates like you, build connections and make friendships in a snap.

Portfolios, galleries, and collections

Portfolios hold your actual uploaded files. When you upload photos, they are placed into a new or existing portfolio. Every portfolio can have a description including title, caption, category, and keywords. An assigned cover photo visually represents a portoflio.

Collections hold links to uploaded photographs. They can include links to photos uploaded by you or by other DarQroom members. You can use collections to showcase your best photos across several galleries or to collect favorite photos of other photographers.

Portfolios can be organized into Groups of sub-portfolios. Groups are similar to folders on your computer and you can have groups and portfolios inside other portfolios.

Build your own collections with lightboxes

DarQroom grows every single day with hundreds if not thousands of high quality images from passionate photographers and their community. Visitors can easily select favorite photographs and conveniently add them to the shopping cart, share with photographer, or e-mail their selections to family and friends.

Choose the level of protection

Flexible access control

Portfolios and galleries, and even individual photos can be made public or private. Public items are visible to everyone and private items are only visible to their owner.

In addition, portfolios, galleries, lightboxes, and photos can be protected with a password assigned by you. You can also include a password hint to make it easier for people to remember the password.

Alternatively, access to groups, galleries, collections, and photos can be limited to a list of registered Zenfolio users who would be allowed to view the items. Anyone can get a completely free Visitor account to be added to the list.

Right-click protection

Right-clicking on an image does not show the standard browser popup that allows downloading images. The DarQroom menu is displayed instead. Dragging images from the browser onto computer’s desktop is also restricted.

Watermarks

You can create and assign custom watermarks with full control over placement and opacity. Supported watermark file formats include JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and PNG with transparency. Watermarks are applied to the downsized display images, not your original uploaded photo.

Download originals

Originals are stored unchanged on our servers and you can download them back at any time. You can optionally allow original photos to be downloaded by visitors.

You can also specify the largest image size that can be downloaded by your viewers. If you use the watermarking feature, downloaded images will have watermarks included.

Search: your photos and photos from thousands of passionate photographers

Simple text Search queries titles, captions, categories, and keywords of photographs, portfolios, and galleries.

Search results can include one specific photographer or all photographer members on the DarQroom site. Photographers have full control over the type of search available from their visitor pages, or can remove the Search field completely.

Visitor tracking

With your DarQroom account comes a wealth of statistics about your visitors and how much your images are appreciated. You can track how many visits you have per image, per portfolio and where those visits come from.

For Premium and Pro users, a DarQroom account makes it really easy to include a Google Analytics tracking code to collect a wealth of statistics information about your visitors (no coding required). Google Analytics is a free tool that allows you to collect aggregate information about visitors to your Zenfolio pages, such as the number of unique visitors over time, their location, length of visits, and much more.

Search Engine Optimization made easy to place you in Google’s first page

In order for your visitors to discover you and your images on Google, Bing or Yahoo, referencing your site and photos is a long and repetitive process which takes significant time. Good news ! DarQroom takes care of your Search Engine Optimization (SEO). All you have to do is to focus on describing your photographer’s profile and your images, and DarQroom will make you appear in the first page of search results.

Custom domain name

If you have your own domain name, it can be configured to point to DarQroom.

Your domain name will become the URL address to your Home page, and all the visitor links will begin with it.

Visitors can communicate on the photos they like on Facebook and Twitter in one singe click.

You can also link your DarQroom account with your Facebook and/or Twitter account so that your network knows when you publish and exhibit new photos.
